MIWAS Summer Exhibition

I have just returned home from spending 5 days at the MIWAS Summer Exhibition at Rookesbury Manor in Wickham Hampshire. I had four coloured pencil paintings on exhibit, included in these were the coloured pencil painting entitled “Portrait of the Wolf ” which was entered in the World Mammal Category in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year 2013 and was awarded a Commended in its category. Also on exhibit was “Soul Mates” a coloured pencil painting of wolves, “Rough and Tumble” a coloured pencil painting of two brown bears and a coloured pencil work entitled “Too Endangered” which is an image of a Sumatran and a Siberian Tiger. I was also pleased to be part of the Art Market this year, which was great fun. Being an artist can be a very solitary occupation, so it was lovely to meet fellow Wildlife artists and make new friends.

I had on show four original paintings on my stand. The first being a painting I have never shown before entitled “The Scream” depicting faces of many animals that are under the risk of extinction. This large painting was worked in Acrylic and Gouache . “Shumanitutanka” was also on show which is a pencil work of one of our female wolves at the Anglian Wolf Society. Partners also an image of two of the wolves at the centre, and Indonesian Prince (Sumatran Tiger) which also reached the finals in the BBC Wildlife Artist of 2013 Endangered Category were also on exhibit. I also had a large range of prints and greeting cards for sale.
